Adams and Reese is pleased to announce the election of the following attorneys to partnership, effective January 1, 2012: attorneys Scott Cheatham, Jaimmé Collins, Shelly Spansel and Lauren Tafaro in the firm’s New Orleans office; attorney Andrew Freeman in the firm’s Mobile office; and attorney Quinn Henderson in the firm’s St. Petersburg office.

Nashville attorney Gif Thornton has been elected Chairman of the Executive Committee at Adams and Reese LLP. The Executive Committee, comprised of six partners, oversees the strategic operations of the firm and its attorneys and staff in 13 offices in six states and Washington, DC. This is Thornton’s second term as Chairman after serving in the role in 2010.

Adams and Reese ranked fourth among the top bankruptcy law firms in Florida, according to the Tampa Bay Business Journal’s annual list of Bankruptcy Law Firms, ranked by number of local bankruptcy attorneys. Adams and Reese has 14 bankruptcy attorneys in Florida among its three offices in Sarasota, St. Petersburg and Tampa.

The law firm of Adams and Reese has been named a recipient of the Corporate Counsel Women of Color® Diversity Award of Excellence, an inaugural award given by the CCWC as a recognition of the firm’s initiatives, outstanding achievement in commitment to diversity and advancement of women attorneys of color.

Adams and Reese Partner and Diversity Committee Chair Deborah Rouen was recognized among the “2011 Most Powerful and Influential Women in Louisiana,” at the third annual Louisiana Women's Conference, hosted by the National Diversity Council. The awards breakfast was held at the Hilton New Orleans Riverside Hotel on September 23rd.

Adams and Reese Attorneys Vic Lott and Ashley Harris served as legal advisors to the Jackson, Miss.-based timberland investment management organization, The Molpus Woodlands Group, LLC, which announced, on behalf of a client, that they completed the successful purchase of approximately 26,500 acres of timberland located in Georgia and Virginia.
