Ourania “Rainy” Papademetriou, a Managing Attorney for Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia, was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association. The Board of Governors works with the Chancellor to establish official policy for the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Free Legal Clinic to help small businesses provided by volunteer corporate counsel Philadelphia VIP sponsored the eighth annual Corporate Pro Bono Day (CPBD) at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP on October 25, 2011. With support from sponsors, the CPBD provided microentrepreneurs the opportunity to discuss immediate and ongoing legal matters with corporate counsel from various Philadelphia-area businesses at no cost.

Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia, held a series of open houses to welcome volunteers to the agency’s new office space. The new workspace, at 1500 Walnut Street, doubled the agency’s previous square footage. The new office facilities help VIP to better meet the needs of its clients and the community.

Former Gov. Edward G. Rendell to be Honored Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono legal services for low-income clients in Philadelphia, is celebrating its 30th anniversary. Thousands of volunteers help the organization make a critical difference in the quality of life enjoyed by Philadelphia VIP’s clients in need of legal representation. The 30-year milestones will be celebrated through a series of events and a gala on March 19, 2011.
