Attorney David Mack Participates in Panel Discussion put on by The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA)

- Shipman & Goodwin Attorney David Mack recently took part in a panel discussion, entitled "The New Relationship Between Covered Entities and Business Associates " put on by The American Health Information Management Association (AHIMA). Attorney Mack discussed how the Health Information Technology for Economic and Clinical Health ("HITECH") Act, enacted as part of the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act of 2009 ("ARRA"), affects business associates and covered entit ues. A repeat broadcast is expected in the Fall.

Attorney Mack is a partner in the Health Law practice group. He has extensive experience representing health care providers on a broad range of business and regulatory issues including contracting, joint ventures, affiliations, mergers and acquisitions, fraud and abuse, tax exemption, licensure, government and internal investigations, medical staff, regulatory compliance, reimbursement, research, and protection of medical information. In addition, he counsels clients on risk management and medical ethics issues.
