Shipman & Goodwin Attorney Peter Murphy Appointed to Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association

HARTFORD, Conn. (June 10, 2010) - Shipman & Goodwin Attorney Peter Murphy was recently appointed to the Executive Committee of the Young Lawyers Section of the Connecticut Bar Association as Co-Chair of the Education Section. The Young Lawyers Section (YLS) has as its primary goals the promotion of justice, the encouragement of public service, and the promotion of diversity and education of young lawyers and newly admitted practitioners.

Attorney Murphy is a member of the school law practice group, where he represents school districts in education and employment matters, including student discipline, special education disputes, employee discipline and discharge, search and seizure, and all other legal proceedings involving boards of education. Mr. Murphy also represents boards of education in proceedings before state and federal courts, as well as before administrative agencies such as the State Department of Education, the Connecticut Commission on Human Rights and Opportunities, and the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission.
