YWCA of San Diego County Recognizes Calli Bjurstrom at 2010 TWIN Awards Luncheon

SAN DIEGO (June 21, 2010) - SAN DIEGO (June 18, 2010) –Luce, Forward, Hamilton & Scripps LLP, a California law firm with a national reputation, today announced partner Callie Bjurstrom was recently honored at the 31st annual Tribute to Women & Industry (TWIN) Awards Luncheon by the YWCA of San Diego County. The luncheon was held Friday, June 18, 2010, in the Grande Ballroom of the Sheraton San Diego Hotel and Marina.

Bjurstrom, who acts as practice group leader of Luce Forward’s robust Business and IP Litigation practice, was one of 36 women recognized at the annual event. The YWCA of San Diego County pioneered the TWIN Awards Luncheon as a recognition program for local companies to acknowledge outstanding female leaders within their organizations.

As practice group leader, Bjurstrom oversees more than 40 attorneys and paralegals in four of Luce Forward’s offices throughout California. She is also an exceptional litigator specializing in IP and complex business litigation. As one of the statewide leaders in her field, Bjurstrom has served as lead trial counsel in two multi-million dollar jury verdicts involving complex litigation matters in the past three years. In addition, Bjurstrom was recently named one of California’s Top Women Litigators by the Los Angeles and San Francisco Daily Journal.

Since the inception of the TWIN Awards Luncheon, more than 2,400 women have been honored and $1.9 million has been raised to support YWCA programs and services that help women, children, and families affected by domestic violence and homelessness in San Diego County. TWIN serves as one of the main fundraisers for the YWCA of San Diego County annually. Last year TWIN raised $111,000.
