Sheffield Law Firm Celebrates Double Success

- Sheffield law firm Simpson Sissons & Brooke is having a double celebration after one of its solicitors has gained Resolution accreditation and another has just joined their personal injury team.

Angela Lally, who joined Simpson Sissons & Brooke last year, has just achieved specialist accreditation with Resolution, the family lawyers association which specialises in non-confrontational approaches to settling family matters. Angela is one of only a handful of solicitors in Sheffield to be awarded the Resolution accreditation and the accolade is a reflection of the stringent assessment process which she undertook. Accredited solicitors must demonstrate the highest levels of knowledge, practical application of the law and best practice

Angela specialises in financial matters and cases involving children issues. Her accreditation reflects the firm’s conciliatory approach – offering both mediation and collaborative law services, aiming to settle matters by amicable agreement. Angela works with partner Janet Simpson and between them they provide advice on a range of family matters from divorce and separation to pre-nuptial agreements as well as complex financial matters and cases with an international aspect.

The firm has also welcomed Joanne Logan to its personal injury team. Joanne, 31, joins as an associate and head of the catastrophic injuries team from Pannone in Manchester where she specialised in catastrophic injury cases. Simpson Sissons & Brooke was established three years ago and Joanne’s appointment takes the practice to a 16 strong team, strengthening the firm’s position as specialists in high value litigation, including brain and spinal cord injuries. Joanne will divide her time between the firm’s existing Townhead Street office and developing business in the Manchester area.

She explained: “I will be working closely with the team on our spinal and brain injury cases. As well as developing existing relationships to increase the profile of the firm and awareness of the unique service that we offer in an area of law where strong personal skills are as important as expert legal knowledge.”

Partner Jeremy Brooke, said: “We are delighted to welcome Joanne to the firm and know that her expertise in the catastrophic injury sector is going to bring huge benefits to both the partnership and our clients. Combined with Angela’s achievement this reflects the firm’s constant drive to be at the forefront of developments within both the family and personal injury fields and to provide our clients with the best and most appropriate solutions to their needs.”

Joanne studied at the Lancashire Law School and completed her legal practice course at. the College of Law, Chester. She lives in Manchester and enjoys playing the piano, cooking and dancing.

Simpson Sissons & Brooke is led by three of Sheffield’s brightest solicitors. The firm, which was established in May 2007, specialises in family law, conveyancing, asset management and personal injury and currently sponsors the advice worker at the Neurological Rehabilitation Unit of the Northern General Hospital in Sheffield as well as the Steelers Wheelchair Basketball Club.
