Best Lawyers in America Selects 82 Baker & Daniels Attorneys
INDIANAPOLIS (September 1, 2010) - Eighty-two Baker & Daniels LLP attorneys have been named to the 2011 edition of The Best Lawyers in America®, the oldest and most respected peer-review publication in the legal profession.
The firm's recognized lawyers represent 34 different practice areas and four offices — two in Indianapolis and one in Fort Wayne and South Bend. Selected Best Lawyers in more than one area of practice were 30 of Baker & Daniels' attorneys.
Among Indiana firms, Baker & Daniels has the most listed lawyers in 11 areas of practice, including corporate law with 18 attorneys, labor and employment law with seven, banking law with five, bankruptcy and creditor-debtor rights law with five, administrative law with four and nonprofit/charities law with four. Baker & Daniels also is the Indiana leader with the most Fort Wayne (13) attorneys named to Best Lawyers.
Other areas of practice where Baker & Daniels had the most lawyers or was tied for the most lawyers listed among Indiana firms were antitrust law, education law, eminent domain and condemnation law, international trade and finance law, and leveraged buyouts and private equity law.
Since its inception in 1983, Best Lawyers has become universally regarded as the definitive guide to legal excellence. Because Best Lawyers is based on an exhaustive peer-review survey in which more than 39,000 leading attorneys cast almost 3.1 million votes on the legal abilities of other lawyers in their practice areas and because lawyers are not required or allowed to pay a fee to be listed, inclusion in Best Lawyers is considered a singular honor.
Corporate Counsel magazine has called Best Lawyers "the most respected referral list of attorneys in practice." The lawyers in Best Lawyers have no say in deciding the practice areas where they are listed. They are voted into practice areas entirely as a result of the votes they receive from their peers.
