Oblon, Spivak’s Jonathan Hudis is Appointed Chair of Division II (Trademarks) of the ABA’s IP Law Section

Hudis Also Receives Leadership Award

- Oblon, Spivak, McClelland, Maier & Neustadt, L.L.P. is proud to announce that partner Jonathan Hudis has been appointed the Chair of Division II (Trademarks & Unfair Competition) of the American Bar Association (ABA)'s Section of Intellectual Property Law (ABA-IPL) for 2010-2012.  He also was presented with the “Outstanding Leadership Contribution Award” by the ABA-IPL during the 2010 Annual Meeting of the ABA in San Francisco.  

The ABA Section of Intellectual Property Law is the largest intellectual property organization in the world, with a membership in excess of 25,000, and the oldest substantive Section of the ABA.  The section has more than 60 substantive committees, organized into various divisions and specialty boards. Division II comprises seven separate committees devoted to various sub-specialty areas of trademark law and matters of unfair competition.

In bestowing this award on Mr. Hudis, Section Chair Don Martens said, “This year, Jonathan was one of our talented leaders who made great strides to advance the Section’s mission and goals in the areas of trademark law and unfair competition.”

Mr. Hudis is a partner in Oblon, Spivak’s Trademark and Copyright Practice Group. He counsels clients in trademark, copyright, unfair competition and trade secrets matters and has several years of practical intellectual property litigation experience in contested court matters and administrative proceedings. He also is well versed in trademark prosecution and registered copyright protection matters.
