Donald Zamborsky Speaks to Professional Association of Healthcare Office Managers
ALLENTOWN, Pa. (October 8, 2010) - Donald A. Zamborsky, Esq., Member of Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino, the Pennsylvania office of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., will present “Act 169 – Advanced Directives” at a membership meeting for the Professional Association of Healthcare Office Management (PAHCOM) – DelCo Chapter on October 12, 2010, in Broomall, Pennsylvania. Zamborsky will speak about Act 169, passed in 2006 which allows for adults to make advance health care directives (both medical powers of attorney and living wills). He will also touch on the Physician Orders for Life Sustaining Treatment (POLST) which has not been adopted in Pennsylvania but will probably be allowed in the near future.
“It is important for managers of health care practices to be aware of current legislation and how it affects their physicians and patients. Specifically, I will stress the importance of putting one’s wishes for health care treatment in writing BEFORE something happens,” explained Zamborsky.
The DelCo chapter of PAHCOM which began in 2005 is already over 30 members strong. Members include office managers, administrators and supervisors from a wide range of medical practice sizes from solo one-site practices to large multi-site, multi-specialty physician practices in Delaware County, Pennsylvania. The DelCo Chapter mission is to provide all managers with information, support and access to resources to continually improve their skills as managers, and increase their knowledgebase and marketability. PAHCOM exists to share knowledge and lead the way to professional excellence. Physicians need to hire competent medical managers; PAHCOM membership is the standard physicians use to measure that competence.
Zamborsky focuses his practice on estate planning, administration of estates and trusts, adoptions, and real estate. Zamborsky’s expertise spans from typical wills between spouses to very complicated and unusual probate situations. His experience covers closely held business entities as well as corporate and partnership organizations. His goal is always to achieve the client's personal goals while accurately assessing and reducing the impact of taxes on the family's net worth.
It is believed by many that Zamborsky handles more adoptions than any other lawyer in Lehigh County, both private and those involving an agency, as well as step-parent adoptions. He does not, however, place any children for adoption or handle international adoptions.
He has taught courses on estates and trusts as an adjunct faculty member at Pennsylvania State University, Cedar Crest College, and the Institute for Paralegal Studies.
Zamborsky earned his B.A. in 1969 from the University of Pennsylvania and his J.D. in 1972 from Villanova University.
