Steptoe’s Antitrust Group Adds Partner Chong Park
WASHINGTON (October 22, 2010) - Steptoe & Johnson LLP announced today that Chong S. Park has joined the firm as a partner in the Antitrust Group in the firm’s Washington, DC office. Mr. Park is an experienced antitrust litigator with substantial trial experience whose practice also covers counseling on a wide range of antitrust issues.
“We are pleased to welcome Chong to the growing Antitrust Group at Steptoe,” said Roger E. Warin, Chair of the firm’s Executive Committee. “His strong background in antitrust litigation, recent government service at the Federal Trade Commission, and commitment to client service make Chong an excellent addition to Steptoe.”
Mr. Park joins the firm from Kirkland & Ellis LLP, where he was a partner. He has successfully first-chaired bench and jury trials in federal and state courts and also has extensive alternative dispute resolution experience. Mr. Park served as the lead managing attorney in the Federal Trade Commission's landmark Unocal standard-setting investigation and litigation, successfully arguing the appeal of the initial dismissal of the complaint on Noerr-Pennington grounds and serving as co-lead trial counsel for the FTC in the subsequent four-month trial on the merits. He has successfully represented companies in connection with antitrust actions involving pharmaceuticals, semiconductors, biotechnology, telecommunications, and other industries. Mr. Park also has represented companies in connection with investigations initiated by antitrust enforcement agencies in the United States and before the European Commission.
“Chong adds to the Antitrust Group’s growing bench strength,” said Ken Ewing, leader of the firm’s Antitrust Group. “We especially welcome his expertise in matters at the intersection of antitrust and intellectual property.”
“I am excited to join the talented team of attorneys at Steptoe and look forward to working closely with the firm’s regulatory and intellectual property practices,” said Mr. Park.
