Scott B. Allinson Elected to Board of Advisors for Solar Technology

- Scott B. Allinson, Member of Tallman Hudders & Sorrentino, the Pennsylvania office of Norris McLaughlin & Marcus, P.A., was elected to the Board of Advisors for Solar Technology Inc.

“I am honored to be selected to serve on the first advisory board for SolarTech. I have seen the company grow and evolve while continuing to be a major player in the solar powered message board industry,” said Allinson, who served as corporate counsel with the company for over twelve years.

Drawing on his electrical engineering and computer science background, founder and president of Solar Technology Inc., Byron Zerphy designed and built the world’s first arrow board that derived 100% of its energy requirements from the sun in 1990. Nearly two decades later, solar power is the industry standard for running portable traffic control equipment. Over the years, SolarTech has continued to lead the industry in technology advances. From the first full-matrix LED signs in 1998 to the newest Mega-Touch™ touch-screen controller, the company is committed to the mission of innovative product design and advanced manufacturing techniques that continually increase the value added to the products produced and the services provided. The company is now run by Byron’s son Eric and daughter-in-law Sabrina – both Naval Academy graduates.

Allinson specializes in economic development law, commercial litigation, and business law, with special emphasis on construction law, creditors’ rights law, corporate and partnership governance, and general and complex commercial litigation.

Allinson’s construction practice focuses on litigation, mechanic’s lien claims, construction defects, payment bond claims, general and subcontractor representation, and specialized litigation, arbitration and mediation concerning public construction projects.

Allinson is active in politics and serves on a variety of boards and committees for various charitable, economic and community organizations. He serves as solicitor to Lehigh’s Economic Advancement Project, Northampton County New Jobs Corporation, the Bethlehem Economic Development Corporation, the Lehigh County Industrial Development Authority, the Northampton Gaming Authority, and Lehigh Valley Regional Loan Pool. Allinson serves on the Board of Directors of the Lehigh County General Purpose Authority and is a member of the President’s Council of DeSales University.

Allinson earned his J.D. from American University, Washington College of Law and his B.A., magna cum laude, from Lehigh University. He is a member of the National Association of College and University Attorneys.
