NEW YORK (January 10, 2011) - Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is pleased to announce that Ronald M. Daignault joins the firm as a partner in its New York Office, in the Intellectual Property Litigation practice. Mr. Daignault has extensive first-chair and second-chair trial experience, and he has represented companies across a broad range of industries in a variety of patent, trademark, and other intellectual property cases in federal district courts and courts of appeals throughout the country, and the International Trade Commission. He previously was a partner at Stroock & Stroock & Lavan in New York.
Martin R. Lueck, Chairman of the firm’s Executive Board, states, “The addition of Ron to our New York office is a logical step in our evolution. When we opened the office in February 2010 with David Leichtman, Hillel Parness and Bryan Vogel, we did so to capitalize on and enhance our national trial practice. We will continue to expand our client service in New York during 2011 and beyond. More importantly, we have integrated our new lawyers in New York into our nationwide practice, including the relocation of partner Marla Butler to New York.”
“We are very pleased to welcome Ron to our firm. His broad trial experience and the breadth of his intellectual property knowledge significantly enhance our national capabilities and in New York, particularly in the life sciences patent litigation field,” adds David Leichtman, partner in the New York office.
Mr. Daignault’s intellectual property litigation practice, which has focused on the pharmaceutical and life sciences areas over the past ten years, including Hatch-Waxman litigation, also covers other patented technologies, as well as trademark, trade secret and copyright litigation. In fact, just this past November Mr. Daignault was lead counsel in a trademark infringement and false advertising jury trial in the Southern District of New York where his client, Destylarnia Sobieksi, prevailed on all claims asserted against it.
In addition to his litigation practice, Mr. Daignault’s practice also includes domestic and international trademark prosecution, counseling and licensing. He has tried both jury and bench trials to successful completion.
He is a member of the American Bar Association, Intellectual Property and Litigation Sections; the New York Intellectual Property Law Association; and the International Trademark Association. He is an Advisory Board Member for BNA’s Life Sciences Law & Industry Report, and a Trustee of the Smithsonian Cooper-Hewitt National Design Museum.
Mr. Daignault received his B.A. from University of Michigan (1987), and his J.D. from Washington University in St. Louis, MO (1991).
