Evan A. Raynes Joins Roetzel's Intellectual Property Practice Group

WASHINGTON (February 3, 2011) - Roetzel is pleased to announce that Evan A. Raynes, Partner, has joined the firm’s Washington, D.C. office. Mr. Raynes has extensive experience as an intellectual property lawyer, including several years as a partner at a large intellectual property law firm.

Mr. Raynes’ practice specializes in all aspects of trademark and unfair competition law, including clearance, prosecution counseling, portfolio management, due diligence, licensing, counterfeiting, gray-market goods, domain names, opposition and cancellation proceedings, and federal-court litigation. He also works on a wide range of copyright, false advertising and trade secret issues, and has substantial experience in electronic discovery in all types of intellectual property litigation, including patent litigation.

Mr. Raynes has appeared before federal courts at the district court and appellate levels and before the Trademark Trial and Appeal Board of the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office. He has represented numerous domestic and foreign clients in a variety of fields, including audio equipment, banking, cameras, chemicals, clothing, computer software, e-commerce, food, home appliances, hotels, luggage, mobile phones, musical instruments, nutritional supplements, pharmaceuticals, restaurants, robotics, steel, teleconferencing and video games.

Mr. Raynes earned his J.D. from George Washington University Law School where he ranked first in his class. He received his M.A. and B.G.S. from University of Michigan.
