Connolly Bove Employee Kicks Off First Lady’s Event at the White House Supporting Military Families

WILMINGTON, Del. (April 13, 2011) - Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz LLP employee Shirley Brooks had the honor of introducing President Barack Obama and First Lady Michelle Obama, and Vice President Joe Biden and his wife Dr. Jill Biden, to kick off the First Lady’s event, “Initiative to Support Military Families,” on Tuesday April 12th at noon at the White House.  

The initiative highlighted Delaware Boots on the Ground, a non-profit which Ms. Brooks helped co-found in April 2007.  Delaware Boots on the Ground assists and encourages military members and families during deployment and peacetime by matching services to needs.

Ms. Brooks began work at Connolly Bove Lodge & Hutz in 1983 as a legal secretary and currently works as a patent secretary and visitor program coordinator.  "Over the last 4 years we have been able to financially assist hundreds of families and soldiers in Delaware who have been hurt financially and/or physically by their service in support of our nation through the support of individual donations and corporate support and act as an informational resource," noted Ms. Brooks on the Delaware Boots on the Ground website, www.debotg.org.
