Sevier Joins Moore & Van Allen’s Public Affairs Team

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (October 26, 2011) - Moore & Van Allen is pleased to announce that Tommy Sevier has joined the firm as Director of State Public Affairs.  He will be based in the firm’s Research Triangle Park, N.C., office.

“Tommy’s experience, both in Raleigh in the N.C. General Assembly and in Washington on Capitol Hill, brings a fresh perspective to our team, which will be instrumental in serving our clients at the state level,” said Walter Price, managing director and co-head of Moore & Van Allen’s Public Affairs practice group. “We are thrilled that he has joined the firm.”

Sevier’s background lies in public policy, legislative strategy and state and federal lobbying.  Sevier comes to Moore & Van Allen after serving as deputy chief of staff for policy for North Carolina State Senate President Pro Tempore Phil Berger (R-Rockingham), where he managed the public policy staff and advised the President Pro Tem on legislative issues.  Sevier has also served as North Carolina Farm Bureau Federation’s national legislative director and as National Pork Producers Council’s assistant vice president for public policy.  Prior to his work at the National Pork Producers Council, Sevier worked on Capitol Hill for nine years, including six years with Congressman Robin Hayes where he served as Deputy Chief of Staff.

Sevier received his bachelor’s degree in Political Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
