Christopher Reckamp Contributes Patent Experience to Baker & Daniels

- Christopher J. Reckamp has joined the intellectual property team at Baker & Daniels LLP. As a partner, he will practice from the firm's downtown Chicago office.

With more than 20 years of intellectual property experience, Reckamp focuses his practice on opinions, licensing, and patent preparation and prosecution, both domestic and international. He also assists clients with worldwide trademark prosecution, technology transfer and licensing counseling, mediation of intellectual property disputes, due diligence for divestitures and acquisitions, intellectual property portfolio analysis, right-to-use opinions, patent invalidity opinions and non-infringement opinions.

Reckamp advises clients ranging from multinational Fortune 50 corporations to midsize and startup companies. He prepares patents for a wide variety of technologies, ranging from information security systems to medical equipment, with a particular emphasis in the electrical engineering field.

Within his patent litigation practice, Reckamp has defended clients before the International Trade Commission, several U.S. district courts, the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit in Washington, D.C., and the Board of Patent Appeals and Interferences.

Before joining Baker & Daniels, Reckamp was a shareholder at Vedder Price, and he has also practiced with several other intellectual property firms in Chicago. Prior to his legal career, Reckamp designed digital control systems and associated software for Motorola, Inc., as an electrical engineer.

Reckamp simultaneously earned his law degree and an M.B.A. from DePaul University in 1991. He received a bachelor's degree in electrical engineering from Marquette University in 1985.
