Greenbaum Rowe Attorney, David Shivas, Presents Seminar on the NJ Consumer Fraud Act
WOODBRIDGE, N.J. (November 11, 2011) - David T. Shivas, a member of the Litigation Department at the law firm of Greenbaum, Rowe, Smith & Davis LLP, presented the seminar, “Avoiding Business and Personal Liability under the NJ Consumer Fraud Act (CFA),” on October 25th at the firm’s Woodbridge office. The dinner seminar attracted an audience of business owners and professionals.
Mr. Shivas spoke on avoiding CFA exposure; what to include in a company’s contracts; properly documenting changes in to contracts; avoiding misrepresentations concerning products and services; and what to do if a customer files a CFA claim against a business.
Mr. Shivas' practice includes a broad variety of cases in federal and state court. He represents corporate and individual clients in disputes involving commercial contracts, real estate and land use, construction, employment and corporate governance matters. He is a member of the White Collar Defense & Corporate and International Human Rights Compliance Group.
He is a Barrister, Hon. John C. Lifland Inn of Court. Mr. Shivas received his B.A. magna cum laude from Colby College and his Juris Doctor from Emory University School of Law. He is admitted to practice in NJ and NY.
