Richard Campbell Named Managing Attorney of Armstrong Teasdale’s Nevada Offices

- Richard G. Campbell, Jr., an Armstrong Teasdale partner and business litigator, has been named managing attorney of the firm’s Nevada offices effective January 1, 2012. In this position, he will oversee lawyers based in the Reno and Las Vegas offices.

“Having practiced in Reno for over 30 years and served as the firm’s managing attorney there, Richard understands the needs of our growing Nevada practice and the clients that it serves,” said Michael A. Chivell, Armstrong Teasdale’s managing partner. “In addition, Richard has lived in Nevada most of his life so he’s part of the fabric of the community. We are very happy that he will be directing our continuing expansion in the state.”

Campbell succeeds Byron E. Francis, who has headed the Nevada offices since 2009 and is returning to the St. Louis office.

"I’m honored and excited to undertake this position,” Campbell said. “Nevada is an important opportunity for the firm and I am looking forward to growing our Nevada offices with top notch attorneys who can deliver excellent legal services on par with our firm’s outstanding reputation."

Campbell focuses his practice on commercial, construction and employment litigation and administrative law, including water law and public utility law. He counsels a wide-range of clients including gaming companies, real estate developers, utilities, and several Nevada counties and cities.

Named to the Nevada Business Journal’s “Legal Elite 2011,” Campbell is also listed among The Best Lawyers in America for Commercial Litigation in 2010 and 2011 and Northern Nevada's Top 35 Attorneys for Corporate Litigation in 2011.

He earned his J.D. in 1981 from Gonzaga University School of Law and B.S. in English literature in 1978 from Montana State University.

Armstrong Teasdale opened its first offices in Las Vegas and Reno in 2005. Since that time, the firm’s Nevada presence has grown to 14 lawyers with practice areas that include clean energy, technology, international, intellectual property, franchise, bankruptcy, litigation, gaming, corporate, municipal and construction law.

As recently as May, the firm almost doubled its Las Vegas space when it relocated to new offices. The move provided room for additional lawyers, cutting edge technology and state of the art design features. There are currently nine Armstrong Teasdale lawyers based in Las Vegas and the new space will allow for at least eight additional attorneys. The Reno office also recently moved to larger space and expanded its financial restructuring and bankruptcy practice last year with the hiring of attorneys Janet Chubb and Louis Bubala.
