Moore & Van Allen Expands Intellectual Property Practice
CHARLOTTE, N.C. (December 16, 2011) - Moore & Van Allen is pleased to announce that Todd C. Taylor has joined the Charlotte office as senior counsel. Taylor will be expanding the firm’s intellectual property service offering with the launch of a cross-functional commercial and technology transactions practice.
Taylor focuses his practice on outsourcing, corporate, technology, social media and supply chain matters. As the leader of the Commercial and Technology Transactions Practice Group, he will be dedicated to serving clients’ needs on a full range of business arrangements, including outsourcing, strategic alliances and joint ventures, procurement, licensing, and manufacturing, to name a few. Before joining Moore & Van Allen, Taylor served as in-house Assistant General Counsel at Bank of America where he worked extensively on various technology licensing, cross-border and third party servicing arrangements.
“We are thrilled that Todd has joined the firm. His experience as in-house counsel has provided him with matchless perspective that will reinforce our client-oriented mindset and motives,” said Ernie Reigel, Chairman of Moore & Van Allen. “In addition, Todd’s experience enables us to broaden the services we can offer our clients. We recognized the demand for outsourcing counsel and want to remain well ahead of our clients’ needs on every front.”
Taylor is active in the legal speaking circuit with organizations such as the Mecklenburg County Bar Association, Corporate Counsel and the National Business Institute. He is a graduate of Mecklenburg County Bar Leadership School. Taylor received his Juris Doctor from the University of North Carolina School of Law, and his bachelor’s degree from North Carolina State University.
“I am really excited about returning to private legal practice with Moore & Van Allen, one of the premier law firms in the Southeast, and I look forward to establishing a robust outsourcing and technology practice as part of MVA’s talented IP team,” said Taylor.
