Pro Bono

The Adams and Reese Baton Rouge office will receive the “Pro Bono Publico” award from the Louisiana State Bar Association, honoring the office’s attorneys for their contribution to the enhancement and promotion of pro bono services within the Baton Rouge community. The firm’s New Orleans office is also receiving a “Pro Bono Publico” award for its pro bono work in the New Orleans community.

The Adams and Reese New Orleans office has been named a recipient of the “Pro Bono Publico” award, an award given by the Louisiana State Bar Association to a firm that has made a major contribution to the enhancement and promotion of pro bono legal services to the poor.

MVA Named 2012 Larger Pro Bono Firm; Corporate Member Clarke Named Citizen Lawyer The North Carolina Bar Association has named Moore & Van Allen the recipient of the 2012 Larger Law Firm Pro Bono Award. In addition, Corporate Member Dumont Clarke, VI has been named a recipient of the North Carolina Bar Association’s Citizen Lawyer Award.

George T. "Buck" Lewis of the law firm Baker, Donelson, Bearman, Caldwell & Berkowitz, PC, has been appointed chair of the Tennessee Supreme Court's Access to Justice Commission. 

Amy Lorenz-Moser, an Armstrong Teasdale litigation partner, has been named to the board of Connections to Success, a non-profit organization dedicated to helping men and women achieve economic independence.

Ourania “Rainy” Papademetriou, a Managing Attorney for Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia, was elected to a three-year term on the Board of Governors of the Philadelphia Bar Association. The Board of Governors works with the Chancellor to establish official policy for the Philadelphia Bar Association.

Robins, Kaplan, Miller & Ciresi L.L.P. is pleased to announce that it was named a 2011 Beacon of Justice Award winner by the National Legal Aid & Defender Association (NLADA) for the firm’s pro bono work in appellate litigation matters.   The award was presented at the NLADA Exemplar Award Dinner on December 6 in Washington, DC. 

Free Legal Clinic to help small businesses provided by volunteer corporate counsel Philadelphia VIP sponsored the eighth annual Corporate Pro Bono Day (CPBD) at Morgan Lewis & Bockius LLP on October 25, 2011. With support from sponsors, the CPBD provided microentrepreneurs the opportunity to discuss immediate and ongoing legal matters with corporate counsel from various Philadelphia-area businesses at no cost.

Philadelphia VIP, the hub of pro bono legal services in Philadelphia, held a series of open houses to welcome volunteers to the agency’s new office space. The new workspace, at 1500 Walnut Street, doubled the agency’s previous square footage. The new office facilities help VIP to better meet the needs of its clients and the community.
